The vocational orientation initiative “Check it out! - Week oft the open enterprises Saxony” took place from 7 to 12 March 2016. With this initiative pupils have the chance to visit different companies, to know about their activities and to get information about possible professions.
Within the framework “Check it out!” pupils from the Secondary School Dittes, in Plauen, visited LUVO-IMPEX GmbH. For a couple of hours they talked to the Management of the company as well as to employees and our student gaining an overview of the company and its activities. They got to know the processes and procedures of a textile wholesale company. I a role play they acted as employees learning about all main steps of sale processes, from merchandise purchase to dispatch.
The pupils received information about the research network activities of the company too. LUVO Manager, Steffi Volland, showed them one of the prototypes of the RaumConTex network that is being currently tested at the company. It consists on a working place with a near-body heat transfer system that allows the employee to work even at low temperatures in the hall.
