Textile innovations - the right path to the future

LUVO-IMPEX GmbH LUDWIG & VOLLAND was founded in 1997 by Steffi Volland and Lutz Ludwig. It has since grown into a wholesale trader and manufacturer of household textiles for the German and international markets trading under the name of LUVO textile. In 2006, it added the LUVO consult unit to its portfolio of business activities. The company has been certified to DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 since 2012.

In the first 10 years following foundation, the company focused exclusively on marketing high-quality table linen and embroidery of the Plauener Spitze® Made in Germany brand. However, globalisation and the elimination of trade restrictions in the textile sector forced the company to rethink its strategy. Today, through its LUVO textile unit, the company supports domestic and international interior decorators and retail specialists with a modern range of curtains, decorative fabrics, sheer curtains and panels in the curtain coupon business.

In 2006, Steffi Volland's team was bolstered by the recruitment of technical specialists. This led to a re-alignment in the company's activities to focus on project consulting services in renewable energies, energy efficiency and sustainability, drawing upon the extensive experience and expertise gained in the textile sector. The research and network projects that our project managers and network managers initiate are focused on developing new areas of application for technical textiles.

LUVO-IMPEX GmbH is is a certified holder of the Plauener Spitze® trademark and has been a member of the Plauener Spitze und Stickereien e.V. (Plauen Lace and Embroidery Association) since 2001. It is also a member of the Verband innovativer Unternehmen e.V. (VIU) (Association of Innovative Companies), the Deutsche Innovationszentrum für Stickerei e.V. (German Innovation Centre for Embroidery) and the Förderverein fzmb e.V. (fzmb Promotional Association).

The company was nominated in 2014 and 2015 for the 'Großer Preis des Mittelstandes' (Grand Prix of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises). Additionally, in 2014/2015, Steffi Volland was designated an entrepreneurial role model within the frame of the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy's 'Frauen unternehmen' (Women in Business) initiative.

Flexibility, reliability, and a customer and market-focused approach are the qualities that underscore the way we approach our daily business. In 2000 we invested in dedicated company premises at our base in Oelsnitz in Vogtland.

It is the declared goal and desire of our company and its employees to ensure that the company's roots also remain in Germany in the future. Indeed, LUVO-IMPEX GmbH demonstrates that it is possible even for small companies to achieve successful re-alignment of their business activities across industrial sectors. We happily share our experience with our colleagues, and support the development of innovative ideas.
